Backend Engineer (Django/Python)

Bright Money is a consumer fintech building an AI- and data science-powered mobile app that helps Americans get out of debt and manage their credit cards, student loans, and car loans. The company offers tools for credit score building, automated debt paydown, financial and budget planning, and refinance loans. As a Backend Engineer on Bright's Smart Banking Platform, you will: - Develop, test and deploy scalable components in Django/Python. - Develop smart algorithms and subsystems for lending and financial communications to users. - Propose simple, effective design solutions to complex engineering problems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and communications plans. - Conduct periodic and ad-hoc analysis across user acquisition activities and recommend strategic allocation of marketing investments. - Generate actionable insights to drive operational decisions and improve efficiency of marketing investments. - Uplevel the team’s data skills, democratize access to marketing data, and advocate for increased adoption of in-house data tools. You will gain cross-functional skills and a deep, end-to-end understanding of building a customer-focused financial product from scratch, preparing you to potentially become a startup founder in the future.
